Berneta Ann Smith

HAIGLER -- Berneta Ann Smith, 68, died Tuesday (Nov. 10, 2009), at Dundy County Hospital in Benkelman.

She was born April 28, 1941, at Benkelman, to Richard and Velma Hiatt.

She was a teacher's aide, working in elementary education.

She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Hiatt; and a daughter, Barbara Lynn Smith in 1976.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Smith of Haigler; daugher, Brenda Warren of St. Francis; her mother, Velma Hiatt of Benkelman; two brothers, Charlie Hiatt and Toby Hiatt, both of Benkelman; a sister, Marilyn and husband, Wayne Clark of Benkelman; and two grandchildren.

Services will be 1:30 p.m., Friday at Zion Lutheran Church in Haigler. Burial will follow at the Benkelman Cemetery.

Visitation is today, 27 p.m., at Knodel Funeral Home in St. Francis.

A memorial has been established.
