Phyllis J. Grenier

Phyllis Jean Grenier died upon arrival at Community Hospital in McCook on Friday, July 10, 2009, at the age of 86.
She was born Nov. 30, 1922, in McCook, the daughter of the late Ralph J. and Eva L. (Cochran) Weintz. Phyllis grew up in Red Willow County and graduated from Red Willow High School.
On Sept. 5, 1943, Phyllis married Raymond Paul Grenier at Oberlin. For seven years they made their home in Seattle, Wash., returning to McCook in 1952, where she was employed as a telephone operator for 25 years with Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in McCook.
Following her husband's death, she resided at Imperial, Oberlin and moved to Indianola in 1996, where she resided until her death.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in McCook.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Grenier on Sept. 5, 1985; one son, Eugene Paul Grenier in 1997; one brother, Wilbur Weintz; and two sisters, Delores Leiss and Betty Jane Weintz.
Phyllis is survived by two sons, Raymond R. Grenier and his wife, Janet of Mentor, Ohio and Louis Grenier of Hastings; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Burdette Weintz and wife, Judy of McCook; and relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at Herrmann Memorial Chapel in McCook. Interment will be at Fort McPherson Cemetery at Maxwell.
