'Amazing Race' host here Tuesday

Are you a fan of the popular CBS television show "The Amazing Race"? If so you will be please to learn that the celebrity host of the show will be in McCook on Tuesday morning and would love to meet with you! Phil Keoghan notified the McCook Area Chamber of Commerce of his stop in McCook on his bicycle trek across America. Keoghan is riding from Los Angeles to New York to build awareness and support of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and to encourage people to pursue a healthy lifestyle. According to Chamber director, Pam Harsh, "His route across the United States includes stops at only 30 communities. We are pleased that McCook was chosen to be one of those locations. Also we are happy to assist in his effort to raise funds for MS."

The Chamber has arranged for McCook area enthusiasts to meet with Keoghan at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 14, at the lower shelter house of Kelley Park. A healthy breakfast treat from McDonald's Restaurant will be available for those attending. Your free will donation will go to the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Local bicyclists are encouraged to ride with the celebrity on the newly completed concrete trail from Kelly Park to East H Street then South on East 11th street to B Street and then East to Karrar Park. A police escort as well as a group of local motorcyclists will accompany the group. Video footage of his visit may be included on a popular CBS morning show as well as in a documentary film of the ride across America.
