Drivers, cops not amused by dummy on the road

INDIANOLA -- Several people were not amused by the dummy on a county road north of Indianola recently.

The Indianola News reports that Marlene Mustion of Indianola thought Saturday night that it was a dead cow on the road just into Frontier County north of Indianola, only to change her mind as she drove around it and decide it was the fully-clothed body of a very large man.

Mustion, trying to comfort the six youngsters in her car, called 911, the News reports.

As a Red Willow County deputy arrived on the scene, the "body" was also upsetting people in another car.

The deputy picked up the dummy, preventing anyone else from falling for -- or swerving to avoid hitting -- a "person" on the road.

  • How in the world if your a mother mistake a dummy (was it made out of straw) for a cow? I have seen a lot of dummies and a lot of cows, can't remember them looking the same. I hope they provided a grief councelor for the poor lady.
