CAMBRIDGE -- Kenneth Neil Tridle, 95, died Wednesday (Feb. 4, 2009) at Independence Home in Lincoln.

He was born near Orafino on July 25, 1913, to Ralph and Effie (Drake) Tridle. He grew up on the family farm and attended Orafino schools.

On Sept. 14, 1935, he married Hazel Allen in North Platte. They farmed until retirement in 1971, when they moved to Cambridge. His wife preceded him in death in December 1991.

He was a ham radio operator and relayed messages of importance during disasters and times of need for the American Red Cross, law enforcement departments and many other agencies.

He moved to Bloomington, Ill., in 2001, to be with his family. He returned to Lincoln in April 2007, where he lived until his death.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Hazel and sister, Irene.

Survivors include his son, Robert and wife, Jaqueline Tridle of Lincoln and three grandsons.

Funeral services will be Monday, 11 a.m., at Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge with the Rev. Jerry Allen officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Cambridge.

Memorials may be left in his name at the mortuary to the Cambridge Senior Center.
