Marlina Kay Jones

Marlina Kay Jones died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, at Community Hospital in McCook. She was 54-years-old.
Marlina was born on May 31, 1954, in Norton, Kan., to John J. and Dorothy M. (Foster) Lawn. She graduated from Oberlin High School in 1972.
After graduation, she moved to the McCook community. She was employed by Electric Hose Plant (Parker Hannifin) having given 34 years of service at the time of her death.
Marlina enjoyed bowling, softball and cross-stitching. Other hobbies included fishing, snake hunting and spending time with her special dog, "Angel." Her most enjoyment from life came from spending time with her grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her father, John J. Lawn; brother, John Richard Lawn; brother-in-law, Mike Duncan; nephew, Michael Beachel; and two nieces, Berkley Millan and Mary Jane Gualope-Hernandez.
Survivors include her twin daughters, August and husband, Bill Matson and April Jones, all of McCook; mother, Dorothy Lawn of Norton; two brothers, James Lawn and wife, Lea and Kevin Lawn and friend, Lori, all of Kearney; five sisters, Priscilla Duncan of Aurora, Colo., Patricia Beachel and special friend, Fred of Gothenburg, Donna Wiscombe of Bradford, Ontario, Canada, Loretta and husband, Ed Fowler of Norton and Brenda and husband, Gabriel Palma of Salome, Ariz.; five grandchildren, Taylor, Trever, Tiara and Trent Matson and Brandon Derauf; numerous nieces, nephews, family and a host of friends.
Memorials may be given in her name.
Visitation is today until 5 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. Friends may go online at www.carpenterbreland.com.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, at McCook Nazarene Church with Terry McCorkle officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
