Hitchcock County/Wauneta-Palisade wrestlers capture Oberlin crown

The Hitchcock County/Wauneta-Palisade High School wrestling team captured first place at the Decatur County-Oberlin Invitational Saturday.

HCWP finished the event with 360 points.

The HCWP junior varsity team was fourth overall.

Marcos Ramirez, James Rundel, John Leahy, Cody Fanning and Adam Simpson led the HCWP team.

The five wrestlers all earned first place finishes in their weight divisions.

Dundy County-Stratton followed in third. Ben Fox won the 128 weight division for DCS.

St. Francis' JV team took fifth. Decatur Community's JV team was sixth and the Red Devils' C team was seventh.

St. Francis' C team took ninth.
