Warren A. Rice

WILSONVILLE -- Warren A. Rice went to be with his Lord and Savior from the Cambridge Memorial Hospital on June 2, 2008 at the age of 73.
He was born in Wilsonville, Neb., on June 21, 1934, to W. Albert and Eldine C. (Smaha) Rice. Warren attended and graduated from Wilsonville High School in 1952. He attended Doane College for two years.
Warren was united in marriage to Arlene Hanneman on March 4, 1955, at the Hanneman homestead near Hendley, Neb. The couple celebrated 53 years of marriage.
Warren was a member of the Nebraska Cattleman's Assoc., National Cattleman's Assoc., Furnas County Livestock Feeder's, and Montana Stockgrower's.
He was a lifetime member of the Wilsonville Baptist Church, serving as a Deacon in the church, served as mayor of Wilsonville, president of the Wilsonville Rural Fire Board, member of Lion's Club and aided and supported the Arlene Rice Family ministries.
He loved his children and grand children. He was an avid support of all their activities from sports to musical endeavors. Warren was known for his expertise and knowledge of the cattle industry. He had a vast network of church, business and associates.
Warren was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene of Wilsonville; two daughters, Cynthia and husband, Mark Milligan of Evergreen, Colo., and Tina and husband, Gordon Cook of Scottsbluff; two sons, Tony and wife, Patricia of Wilsonville and Terry and wife, Tamra of Hendley; two brothers, Kendall and wife, Virginia of Wilsonville and Lonnie and wife, Patt of Grand Island; one sister, Janice and husband, Harry Brown of Hendley. 12 grandchildren, Patrick Miligan, Elisa Milligan Johnson, Stephen Milligan, Angela Squires, Rosanna Elizondo, Travis Rice, Ashley Gerlock, Whitney Rice, Catlin Rice, Court Cook, Meghan Thiele andAlexis Cook; nine great-grandchildren, Saffron Lancaster, Denny Lancaster, Connor Johnson, Mason Milligan, Abel Squires, Amariah Squires, Japheth Elizondro, Jeremiah Elizondro and Micah Gerlock.
Funeral services will beat the Wilsonville United Christian/Baptist Church in Wilsonville on Thursday, June 5, 2008, with Johnny Walker officiating. Burial will be in the Wilsonville Cemetery.
Memorials may be left in Warren's name to either the Wilsonville Ambulance or the Orphanage's supported by the Rice Family ministries.
