MCC softball team takes two from Air Force
COLBY -- The McCook Community College softball team continued its hot streak by taking a doubleheader from Air Force Saturday at Colby.
The Indians defeated the Falcons 19-8 in Game 1 and 7-6 in Game 2.
MCC evened its record at 28-28 -- the best record and most wins in school history.
MCC won 15 of its final 19 regular season games since a doubleheader loss at Western Nebraska April 3 dropped the team's record to 13-24.
In Game 1, Tiffany Lokken went 4-for-4 with a double, homer and two RBIs.
Jessica Martinez went 3-for-3 with two doubles and four RBIs.
Kendra Carmouche went 3-for-3 with a double, homer and four RBIs. Lauren Levia went 4-for-4 with a homer and four RBIs.
Erin Kinsey got the win -- her ninth of the season.
In Game 2, Martinez went 3-for-4 and had three stolen bases.
Carmouche went 1-for-4 and had three RBIs.

The Indians will try to continue their winning ways this week at the Region IX Tournament at Scottsbluff.
MCC's first round game is Thursday against Trinidad State, Colo.
First pitch is slated for 4 p.m. central time/3 p.m. mountain time.
MCC has a 3-19 record against Region IX opponents, including an 0-4 record against Trinidad State.
