Dundy County boys and girls win Maywood Invite
Dundy County-Stratton girls and boys track teams won the Maywood track invitational in McCook Thursday. The Tigers won the girls 4x400 and 4x100 relay. Kyle Glidden led the DCS boys with a win in both the discus and shot put. The boys also won the 4x800 relay and were second in the 4x400.
Elwood finished second in the boys division with Maywood taking third, Medicine Valley fourth and Hitchcock County fifth. Southwest finished outside the top five, Hayes Center was seventh and Eustis-Farnam was eighth.
On the girls side, Southwest took second, Medicine Valley was third, Maywood finished fourth and Paxton was fifth. Eustis-Farnam ended the day in sixth, Hitchcock County was seventh and Hayes Center was 11th.
Lisa Lord and Layne McConville led Southwest's girls to the second place finish. Lord posted a new record in the triple jump with a jump of 36 feet, 8. 5 inches. Lord also won the long jump. McConville took wins in both the 800 and 1600 for the Roughriders.
Krysta Thompson took home two wins for Medicine Valley, winning the 100 and 400.
Sam Matson earned two first place medals for Hitchcock County, in the 100 and 200. Bryson Mahlberg posted three new records for Elwood in the 110 high hurdles with a time of 15. 20 and the 300 meter hurdles with a new time of 40. 90. Mahlberg also won the high jump with a new record jump of 6-4. 25 and finished first in the long jump.
