Bison freshman girls drop game at Holdrege

HOLDREGE -- The McCook High School freshman girls basketball team dropped to 5-4 with a 52-23 loss to Holdrege at home Tuesday.

Holdrege led 20-13 at half before posting a 26-2 third quarter to put the game away.

McCook was led in scoring by Gretchen Sehnert and Taylor Matson both with 7 points. Megan Carfield added 4.

Matson led McCook in rebounding with 7. Sehnert added 5 and Jessa Sughroue 4.

"We were outplayed in every facet of the game tonight," said McCook coach Jon Graff. "Holdrege is a very good team, and we did not match their intensity on the court."

The Bison freshman girls team will close out its season next Tuesday at Hershey.
