COLBY, Kan. -- Loretta Seeberger Hayden, 91, died Saturday (March 17, 2007) at Citizens Medical Center in ?Colby, Kan.

She was born Nov. 15, 1915, on a farm near Angelus, Kan., to Joseph and Elizabeth (Schlageck) Schiltz. She attended Angelus Catholic School and Zion Country School.

She married Edwin Seeberger Oct. 6, 1936, in Sequin, Kan. They lived on a farm east of Rexford, Kan.

On Feb. 10, 1968, she married Edward Hayden. They lived on a farm south of Ruleton for 10 years before moving to Goodland, Kan. She worked as a homemaker. She later moved to Fairview Estates in Colby.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church of Colby, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church of Goodland, Goodland Senior Center, VFW and Goodland Medical Center Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Schiltz; first husband, Edwin Seeberger; daughter, Carol Allaman; granddaughter, Brenda Moss; step-grandson, Dale Anderson; and brother, Harold Schiltz.

Survivors include her husband, Edward Hayden of Goodland; three step-sons, Eddie and wife, Patty Hayden of Hodgenville, Ky., Jim and wife Judy Hayden of Goodland, and Richard "Dick" and wife, Joy Hayden of Goodland; five daughters, Joann Calhoon and husband, O.D. of Colby, Betty Ann Fluhrer and husband, Loveland, Colo., Charlene Barnett and husband, Darrell of Colby, Delores Seeberger of Menlo, Kan., and Dorothy Price of Westminster, Colo.; three step-daughters, Shirley Anderson and husband, Gerald of Goodland, Doris Armstrong and husband, Jack of Goodland, and Clara Gillum and husband, Gary of Jennings, Kan.; three sisters, Catherine Neal and husband, Varlan of Oberlin, Florine Pritchard and husband, Harry of Denver, Colo., and MaryAnn Seeberger of Hanover, Kan.; one sister-in-law, Edna Schiltz of Selden; 23 grandchildren; 18 step-grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; 36 step-great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and four step-great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday, 11 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church in Selden, Kan., with the Rev. Dana Clark officiating. Interment will be in the Selden Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 9 a.m.- 8 p.m., and Wednesday from 8 a.m., until the time of service at the Pauls Funeral Home in Selden. Vigil services will be Tuesday at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to the Loretta Seeberger Hayden Memorial Fund.
