SIOUX CITY, Iowa -- The Dana College women's basketball team had to travel to Sioux City, Iowa again for the second time in five days.

Wednesday night's hard-fought Great Plains Athletic Conference tournament game came down to the final two minutes again.

This time Dordt escaped with a 62-61 victory, ending the Vikings' season.

The two teams finished off much the same way Saturday's game did. Both teams kept the score close in the first half.

Dana found themselves down five points only four minutes into the half.

Tricia Trotter (freshman, Treynor, Iowa) nailed a three-pointer to give Dana the lead.

Jillian Bryant (freshman, McCook High School) put Dana up five with a 15-foot jumper.

The Defenders overcame the Vikings' lead and took a six point lead of their own with a little under four minutes left to go in the half.

The Vikings found themselves down 28-24 going into halftime.

Dana could no get closer than four points until 12 minutes remaining.

Once again the lead was short lived as Dordt battled back and recaptured the lead.

Dordt hit two free throws with a minute remaining to take the lead for good.

Trotter led the Vikings with 17 points and 3 assists.

Jillian Bryant added 10 points and 6 rebounds.

Amy Nichol (junior, Des Moines, Iowa) chipped in 8 points and 11 rebounds.

The loss ends Dana's season at 14-15.

This was the most wins for any Vikings' team since 1992-93.

Dana looks to be in prime position for next season as the Vikings do not have a senior and only one junior.
