Cambridge, Perkins County, Hayes Center volleyball teams reach district title matches

Three area teams claimed sub-district titles on Tuesday.
Cambridge, Perkins County and Hayes Center take the next step up into the district finals.
Cambridge pushed past Eustis-Farnam 25-20, 25-15, 25-19 in the championship round of the D1-10 tournament at McCook.
The Trojans look to play Axtell on Friday in Holdrege at 7 p.m.
Frankie Petersen led the Cambridge team to the win with 10 points, 1 ace, 22 assists, 7 digs and 2 kills.
Jenna Dietz followed with 9 points and had 1 ace and 5 digs.
Shelby Schultz added in 8 points and had 5 ace blocks, 4 ace serves, 10 digs and 12 kills.
Katie McCurdy joined Petersen in assists with 16 and Traci Keyser had 12 digs, 3 ace blocks and 9 kills.
In a tough battle for the title Perkins County took the win from Southwest 23-25, 30-28, 25-20, 25-19 in the C2-11 game at Gothenburg.
Chelsey Quigley had 14 points, 3 aces, 13 kills and 12 digs. Morgan Potthoff followed with 9 points and had 33 assists and 7 digs and Lisa Lord added in 16 kills, 3 digs and 5 blocks.
Abby Houghtelling helped out with 4 blocks and Alisha Weaver had 21 digs.
The Roughriders finished the season at 24-4. Southwest won the RVL and GPAC championships.
Carlie Sis and Sara Wilson combined forces for Perkins County's win. Sis had 14 kills, 5 ace blocks, 21 blocks and 2 assists and aces.
Wilson put in 16 kills, 2 ace blocks, 23 blocks and 1 ace. Jessica Cornelius and Mackenzie Hite teamed up with 24 assists each.
Ashley Day had 10 kills and 3 blocks and Debra Johnson had 10 blocks and 7 kills.
Tara Krajewski added in 13 blocks and 5 kills and Brittany Ross had 2 aces.
The Plainsmen match up with Creek Valley in the district finals.
"We knew we were in for a fight and had to match our players up with theirs," said Perkins County coach Renee Marquardt.
"The first set found ourselves out of sync, but knowing we could play with them meant I had to make a few adjustments in our line up.
"We were a little unsure of ourselves but kept persevering against some outstanding hitters from Southwest's Chelsey Quigley and Lisa Lord."
Hayes Center swept Dundy County in the Class D1-11 finals. The Cardinals take on Potter-Dix in the district finals on Friday.
"We were glad to have another opportunity to play Dundy County," said Cardinals' coach Lindsey Jorgensen.
"The girls came out strong from the beginning and everyone contributed to the big win. We would like to thank all of our fans for their support."
Terra Bishop put in 4 aces and 14 kills for the Cardinal win. Aimee Harms had 3 aces and 5 kills and Rebecca Gigax joined in with 13 kills and 3 aces.
Jaimie Lapp and McKenzie Messersmith led in setting. Lapp had 17 assists and Messersmith had 21. Lichelle Large had 11 kills and Bishop had 2 ace blocks.
Hershey's girls upset Chase County in the C1-11 match 21-25, 25-23, 21-25, 25-21, 17-15.
