ST. FRANCIS --?Lavern F. Goltl, 80, formerly of McDonald, Kan., died Tuesday (Sept. 12, 2006) at Good Samaritan Village in St. Francis.

He was born March 30, 1926, in Ludell, Kan. He married Bethel (Ochaner) Goltl and worked as a farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Bethel of McDonald, Kan.; three sons, Matthew of Wichita, Kan., David and Alan both of Brooklyn, N.Y.; one daughter, Amy Waters of Haviland, Kan.; five sisters, Irene Kehlbeck of St. Francis, Esther Spomer of Wamego, Kan., Evelyn Botti of El Solbronte, Calif., Elaine Johnson of Bird City, Kan., and Jane Cas of Mexico; and five grandchildren.

Memorial services are Saturday at 3 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Bird City,Kan. Burial will follow at Grace Cemeteryin McDonald, Kan.

Memorials may be given in his name to the St. John Lutheran Church in Bird City, Cheyenne County Hospice of St. Francis, or the Good Samaritan Village of St. Francis.

There will be no visitation, his body was cremated.

Knodel Funeral Home of St. Francis is in charge of arrangements.
