Ethanol plant announced for Wauneta
WAUNETA -- Plans are in the works to build an ethanol plant in Wauneta.
On Tuesday, the Wauneta Economic Development Committee executed a "Memorandum of Under-standing" with a third party to develop, construct and operate the ethanol plant. The proposed plant would produce 100 million gallons of ethanol each year and create 35-40 full-time jobs.
The MOU contains specific objectives that must be accomplished by both the developer and the WEDC. The remaining content of the MOU is confidential; it is anticipated that as the project progresses additional information will be made available.
"The Wauneta Economic Development Committee, serving as an appointed entity of the Village of Wauneta, appreciates the opportunity to work on this important economic project," WEDC member Tony Cribelli said.
Other members are Steve Noble, Bill Bischoff, Rick Einspahr and Lloyd Sinner.
