WAUNETA -- Bonnie Jean Hanna, 75, died Saturday (July 15, 2006) at her home in Lafayette, Colo.

She was born on the old Plunkett Place in Chase County, on June 6, 1931, to Dewey and Thelma Hill. She attended District 30 Elementary school, which was called Hilcrest and Wauneta Rural High School.

On Nov. 22, 1947, she married Charles Hanna. They owned and operated a farm outside of Wauneta and a motel in Crawford.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Rebecca Lodge and the Park Board of Directors, and volunteered in the community.

She is survived by her two daughters, Catherine Lowman and husband, Lynn of Louisville, Colo., and Vicky Hanna of Gering; a son Doug Hanna and wife, Darcy of Longmonth, Colo., two brothers, Tom Hill and wife, Ellie of Lincoln, and Jack Hill and wife, Peggy of Littleton, Colo.; three sisters, June Blankenship and husband, Duane of Pender, Shirley Ball of McCook, and Deloras Collins of Lincoln; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandhcildren.

Services were today at the United Methodist Church in Wauneta. Interment followed at Riverside Cemetery in Wauneta.

Memorials may be given in her name to the Wauneta Senior Center.

Liewer Funeral Home of Wauneta is in charge of arrangements.
