McCook Football League looking for players

The McCook Football League program will again be run for boys entering grades 5-8 this summer.

Due to large enrollment expected, we are asking for parents to enroll their athletes as soon as possible to address equipment needs.

Once again, registrations are limited to no more than 75 participants per age division.

There will be 75 in the 5th/6th grade division and 75 in the 7th/8th grade division.

Registration is open until July 10.

Fee is $60 for each player (includes equipment rental, mouthpiece, coaching, and T-shirt.).

Equipment checkout for all participants will be 6-8 p.m. on Monday, July 10 at Weiland Field.

(This is change from previous years) -- 5th/6th Grade - 6-7 p.m.; 7th/8th Grade - 7-8 p.m.

First Practice will be Tuesday, July 11 at 7 p.m. at the McCook Sr. High Practice Field (Behind the Sr. High) on 7th Street.

Practices will last approximately one hour and 30 minutes.

Schedule of all practices and games are subject to change due to weather.

Teams will be comprised from a draft. There will be no guarantees of team placement.

Registrations may be picked up at The Sports Shoppe, The McCook YMCA and McCook High School.
