IMPERIAL -- Arthur R. Bush, 85, of Palisade, died Thursday (June 8, 2006) at Chase County Hospital in Imperial.

He was born Nov. 29, 1920 to Oral and Laura (Witzke) Bush at Council, Idaho. He graduated from Hamlet High School.

He married Frieda A. Sommerfeld on Aug. 30, 1946, at Hastings. To this union, three daughters were born, Laurel, Lona, and Barbara.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Palisade and the VFW No. 7028 and the American Legion No. 318.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oral and Laura; wife, Frieda; and sister, Pauline Bodeman.

Survivors include his daughters, Laurel Bush from Helsinki, Finland, Lona Farrell and husband, Robert of Gray, Maine, and Barbara Cooksley and husband, George of Anselmo; brother, Richard Bush and wife, Louise of Kennewick, Wash.; brothers-in-law, Arlie Bodeman of Portland, Oregon and Paul Sommerfeld and wife, Leone of Hastings; and two grandchildren

Funeral services will be Monday, June 12, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the Palisade Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Greg Stuckwisch officiating. Burial will be at Meadow Lawn Cemetery in Hamlet with a military honor guard.
