Mark 'Buff' Buffington

Mark "Buff" Buffington of McCook, died Saturday (June 3, 2006) at Mercy Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa. He was 52 years old.

He was born October 22, 1953, in McCook, to Harold Lee and Laura M. (Meury) Buffington. He grew up in McCook and graduated from McCook High School in 1972.

He worked for Paulsen Construction for 20 years. He was a supervisor on road construction. He loved hunting, fishing, NASCAR and the Huskers. He was a member of the National Rifle Association.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his soul mate and life partner, Barb McMichael of McCook; his mother, Laura Buffington of Wauneta; sons, Beau Buffington of Ogallala, and Tyler Buffington of Sidney; brothers, Roger Buffington and wife, Dixie of Farmington, N.M., Dennis Buffington of McCook and Ray Buffington and wife, Vicki of Imperial; and grandson, Ian Buffington.

Memorials are being accepted in his name.

Funeral services will be Friday, 11 a.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Chapel in McCook with Terry McCorkle officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Family and friends may also go on-line at www.carpenterbreland.com to leave condolences.
