CULBERTSON -- Wilma Irene Sitzman died Monday (April 17, 2006) at the Hillcrest Nursing home in McCook at the age of 87.

She was born Nov. 26, 1918, at Stahl, Mo., the daughter of the late Walter Thomas and Alliwilda Bell (Harmon) Butler.

As a child, her family moved to Palisade, where she grew up and graduated from Palisade High School.

On July 20, 1935, Wilma married George "Fuzz" Sitzman at Atwood. They spent their married lives in Culbertson where she and her husband owned and operated Sitzman's Lunch for over thirty years. She also worked as a staff member for the Multi County Social Services inMcCook.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the American Auxiliary, and served on the Culbertson Library and Cemetery boards and was a member of Craft Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George "Fuzz" Sitzman on June 11, 2000; one son, Jim Sitzman on April 24, 1994; one granddaughter, Collet Cae Sitzman; one grandson, Steven Lee Sitzman; one brother, Jim Butler; an two sisters, Mary Hamilton and Anita Magorian.

Wilma is survived by two sons, Don Sitzman and wife, Norma of Culbertson, Leonard Sitzman and wife, Rose of McCook; daughter-in-law Shirley Sitzman of Liberty, Mo.; one brother, Henry Butler of Topeka, Kan.; 10 grandchildren, Vicki Bauer and husband, Ron, Randy Weaver and wife, Kelly, Tonya Holthaus and husband, Paul, MeLinda Palic and husband, John, Angie Sitzman, Shawna Rischling and husband, Dave, Janine Marker and husband, Steve, Brenda Flickinger and husband, Gary, Brian Sitzman and Brad Sitzman an wife, Patty; 21 great-grandchildren; and relative and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 21, 2006, at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Culbertson with the Rev. Richard Melano officiating. Interment will be in the Culbertson Cemetery.

Memorials may be given in her name and friends may call at Herrmann Funeral Chapel in Culbertson from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
