Sloan, Arterburn wedding

Joshua and Lori Arterburn

GRAND ISLAND -- Lori Sloan of Grand Island and Joshua Arterburn of McCook were united in marriage Saturday, Aug. 6, 2005, at the Resurrection Catholic Church in Grand Island with the Rev. James Schmit officiating.

Parents of the couple are Dan Sloan and Bonnie Sloan, both of Grand Island, and Tom and Cindi Arterburn of McCook.

Grandparents of the couple are Arnold and Irene Vieth and Leonard and Janice Sloan, all of Grand Island, and Robert and Teresa Purvis and Kermit and Charlene Arterburn, all of McCook.

Katie Rohling of Grand Island served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Sara Hoyle of Lincoln; Jen Arterburn of Wahoo, sister of the bridegroom; and Kayla Schachta of Ashton and Misty Havlovic of David City, both cousins of the bride.

Joel Arterburn of McCook, brother of the bridegroom, served as the best man. Bridegroomsmen were Aaron Purvis of Lincoln and Erik Eiler of McCook, cousins of the bridegroom; Kevin Sloan and Steven Sloan of Grand Island, brothers of the bride; and Kurt Van Den Hemel of North Platte.

Maggie Cochrane and Brianna Hoyle, both of Lincoln, were flowergirls. Ushers were Marc Kaminski of Wahoo; Brad Vieth of Grand Island, cousin of the bride; Tony Purvis of McCook, cousin of the bridegroom; and Jeff Hoyle of Lincoln.

Music for the ceremony was provided by organist Barb Mueller of Grand Island and soloist David Kreutzer of Grand Island, uncle of the bridegroom.

A reception took place at the Eagles Club in Grand Island. Guestbook attendants were Hollie Eiler and Emma Kreutzer, cousins of the bridegroom. Host couples were Bob and Lynn Tamk, Kim and Jeff Mihm, Deb and Jim Winchell and Mark and Kath Eiler. Reception assistants were Lynda Kreutzer of Grand Island and Deb Lafferty of McCook.

The couple honeymooned in Chicago, Ill.

The bride attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, majoring in accounting. She is employed with AAA Nebraska. The bridegroom has an associate's degree from McCook Community College. He attended Chadron State College. He is employed with Lincoln Poultry.

The couple is making their home in Lincoln.
