OBERLIN -- Helen Charlotte Lindquist, 89, died Saturday (Dec. 10, 2005) at the Decatur County Hospital in Oberlin.

She was born Dec. 1, 1916, in McCook to Fred and Eruilla (Fitch) Adams. She graduated from McCook High School.

She married Ernest John Lindquist on Nov. 24, 1940, in Oberlin. The couple moved to McCook in 1947. She was employed by the McCook Daily Gazette. She returned to Oberlin in 1998.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John in 1989; her parents; two brothers, Richard Adams and Elbert Adams; and one sister, Mildred Wilcox.

Survivors include two daughters, JoAnne Dolance and husband, John of Dallas, Texas, and Judy Stark and husband, Gene of Sun City, Ariz.; one son, John Lindquist and wife, Jill of Jackson, Mich.; a brother, James Adams of McCook; two sisters, Freda Olson of Grand Island and Doris Bobier of Gibralter, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and relatives and friends.

Services will be Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., at Memorial United Methodist Church in McCook with the Rev. Dr. Jeffery Thurman officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook.

Memorials are being accepted in her name and friends may call at Herrmann Funeral Home in McCook, 9 a.m.- 9 p.m., which is in charge of arrangements.
