Hayes Center football team falls to Stapleton

HAYES CENTER -- Hayes Center lost to Stapleton's football team on Friday 36-14.

"This was a hard fought game with a playoff atmosphere, said Cardinals Coach Jim Cole.

"This is a disappointing loss, but we are playing well and want a chance to prove ourselves in the playoffs."

Alex Hutchison and Quincy Opela led in scoring for Stapleton along with Tyler and Terence Belvins.

Cardinal Preston Sheets ran 12 yards in the first quarter and Ben Maucher ran two yards and made the extra point in the second.
