HAIGLER -- Lucy Gorgetta Robbins, 75, died Thursday (Sept. 1, 2005) at the Sarah Ann Hester Memorial Home in Benkelman.

She was born Sept. 26, 1929, to Harry and Lola (Bennett) Arnold in Rutheron, N.M. She was the youngest of five children and spent most of her childhood in New Mexico and Colorado.

She married Harold H. Robbins Feb. 26, 1945, in Durango, Colo. The couple had three sons, one daughter and one foster-daughter. They lived in many Colorado towns and spent some time traveling in Colorado, Nebraska, South Dakota and North Dakota building churches. They retired in 1999 and moved to Haigler. She was also employed as a cook and a nursing home aide.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Lola Arnold; sisters, Helen Books and Dorothea Arnold; brother, Delbert Farra; a daughter, Charlotta Winter; and a granddaughter, Jo Lee Robbins.

Survivors include her husband, Harold Robbins of Haigler; three sons, George Robbins and wife, Dee of Burlington, Colo., Larry Robbins and wife, Kay of Ordway, Colo., David Robbins of Haigler; son-in-law, Bob Winter and wife, Beverly of Iowa; foster-daughter, Deedra Roberts of Texas; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; sister, Gace Kinnick of Newcastle; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be Tuesday, at 10:30 a.m., at the United Methodist Church in Haigler. Interment will follow services at the Haigler Cemetery. There will be no visitation. The casket will be open at the church.
