ARAPAHOE -- Raymond L. Gugleman, 92, died Saturday (Aug. 20, 2005) at the C.A. Mues Good Samaritan Home in Arapahoe.
He was born June 22, 1913, to William and Mary (Johnston) Gugleman in Lewellen. He graduated from Orafino High School in 1931.
He served in the U.S. Army briefly during World War II.
He married Birdiene Utterback on May 13, 1943. The couple farmed north of Cambridge.
He was a member of the VFW, the American Legion and the United Methodist Church of Arapahoe.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Birdiene on Nov. 26, 1976; a sister, Helen Partridge; and three brothers-in-law.
Survivors include three sisters, Doris Rowley of Hastings, Lois and husband, Robert Warren of Aurora, Ill., and Jean Fritz of North Platte; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be Wednesday, 1 p.m., at the United Methodist Church in Arapahoe with the Rev. Michael Flury officiating. Interment will be in the Arapahoe Cemetery in Arapahoe. A luncheon for friends and family will take place at the church at 11 a.m.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. at Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge and at the church from 10 a.m. until the services on Wednesday.
Memorials are being accepted in his name at the Good Samaritan Center or the Furnas County Hospice.
Lockenour-Jones Mortuary of Cambridge is in charge of arrangements.
