ATWOOD -- Gladys Lucille (Smith) Rippe died Saturday, June 18, 2005, at the Good Samaritan Center in Atwood. She was 95 years old.

She was born Aug. 23, 1909, at Altona, Neb., the daughter of Thomas Victor Smith and Thirza Raymond Smith. She married George Pfaff, who died in August, 1942.

On May 5, 1948, in Greeley, Colo., she married George Rippe.

Gladys taught school for 31 years, and was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church of Atwood and Theda Kapi Phi.

Survivors include son, Kenneth Raymond of Atwood; daughters, Wanda Jean Roberts and George, of Kettering, Ohio; Gladys Marlene Wyatt of Sunnyvale, Calif.; sons George Leland Pfaff of Annondale, Va., and Floyd Ivan of West Brook, Conn.; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Services will be Thursday, at 10 a.m., at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Atwood, with the Rev. Don White officiating. Burial will be in the Atwood Fairview Cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to Redeemer Lutheran Church and Good Samaritan Center, Atwood.
