Eunice Loreen Paxton
(Sept. 6, 1934 - June 8, 2005)
ARAPAHOE -- Eunice Loreen Paxton, 70, died Wednesday (June 8, 2005), at her home at Immanuel Trinity Village in Papillion.
She was born on Sept. 6, 1934 to Oscar A. and Elsie (Monter) Wendland in Gosper County. She attended grade school at the Immanuel Parochial School north of Arapahoe through eighth grade. She then attended Arapahoe High School and graduated in 1952.
She married Donald Paxton on May 21, 1954.
On Feb. 5, 1989, her husband passed away. In Aug. 1998, Eunice moved to Alma. In June 2003 she moved to Immanuel Trinity Village.
She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Arapahoe and the LWML.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one brother, Glen; and one sister, Glenva Wendland.
She is survived by three sons, Billy Paxton, and wife, Patty of Superior, George Paxton, and wife, Andrea of Papillion, and Jim Paxton of McCook; two daughters, Janice, and husband, Gary Avary of Alma, and Patti, and husband, Greg Schievelbein of Omaha; two sisters, Helen Wendland of Holbrook and Eleanor Shelor of Lexington; one sister-in-law, Norma Wickham, and husband, Eldon of Arapahoe; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Arapahoe with the Rev. Jeff W. Ernstmeyer officiating. Interment will be at the Arapahoe Cemetery in Arapahoe.
Viewing and visitation will be Saturday from 1-8 p.m. and Sunday from 1-8 p.m. at Wenburg Funeral Home in Arapahoe.
