OBERLIN -- Cloyce D. Harold, 80, died Tuesday (May 10, 2005) at the Decatur County Hospital in Oberlin.
He was born Dec. 6, 1924, in Dresden to Albert and Vera (Bates) Harold. He was raised on a farm southeast of Oberlin and was a graduate of Decatur Community High School in 1943, and the University of Wisconsin.
He served in the Navy during World War II.
On Feb. 8, 1948, he married June Jaderborg. They made their residence on the Harold family farm. He was a farmer and stockman.
He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 70 and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Lloyd Harold.
Survivors include his wife, June, of Oberlin; two sons, Ward Harold and wife, Diana of Austin, Texas, and Ray Harold, and wife, Julie of Hays, Kan.; two brothers, Orval Harold of Manhattan, Kan., and Gale Harold of Omaha; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Doug Hasty officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
There will be no visitation. The body was cremated.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Legion Lung Association, United Service Organizations, or the Oberlin American Legion Post No. 70.
