"This was the first varsity win against North Platte since our seniors have been a part of Bison tennis," Bison coach Matt Wiemers said.

"It was a great win for the team and I'm proud of how well they performed. The girls got off to a good start by winning all three doubles matches. Ashley stepped in to fill a varsity spot at three doubles and did a great job. She played the net effectively and adjusted well to playing with a new partner.

"In singles, the team didn't let up. They took five of the six matches played. Ashley stepped up her play and picked up a big win at No. 6 singles.

"Ashley volleyed well and didn't make many unforced errors. I appreciate her moving up to varsity and playing as well as she did. This was a great start for the team, to a busy week against quality opponents.

"Our junior varsity also stepped up their play by winning 14 of the 17 matches played.

"As I have stated before, we have some talented younger players coming up. With more court experience and a stronger grasp on fundamentals, they will contribute to our future success.

"They have answered the call all season and are already looking forward to contributing to next years team.
