Norma E. Bodeman

Norma Ellen (Troxel) Bodeman, 81, died Wednesday (March 16, 2005) in Imperial.
She was born Dec. 23, 1923, to Charles Orley and Luella May (Bush) Troxel at their farm home south of Wauneta. She attended Sunny Side School south of Wauneta until the eighth grade and then attended Wauneta High School graduating in 1941. She attended business college at Hastings.
On Aug. 7, 1943, she married Gerold Alfred Bodeman in Oberlin. They made their home north of Wauneta and Palisade before moving east of Palisade. She was a bookkeeper for Oger's filling station in McCook, Hayes Center ASCS and a receptionist for Dr. Ivan Lamb. She also helped on the farm. Upon retirement they moved to their home in Palisade where she lived until her recent illness.
She was a member of the Jolly Jane's Club and the Beverly Aid until the last few years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Charles Robert Troxel; sister, Neoma Evelyn Miller; a sister-in-law, Laverda Newberry and brother-in-laws, Harley, Leland and Verle Bodeman.
Survivors include her husband, Gerold of Palisade; sister, Nola and husband, Harry Straub of Wauneta; brother-in-law, Donald Miller of Denver; sister-in-law, Fern and husband, George Good of El Paso, Texas; brother-in-law, Arlie and wife, Pauline Bodeman of Portland, Wash.; and uncle, Talbert Bush of Greeley, Colo.
Funeral services will be Monday, 2 p.m. (MST), at the Wauneta Church of Christ with Randy Hayes and Rick Eldred officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery.
Visitation is today until 5 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. until noon and Sunday 2-4 p.m.
