OBERLIN -- Ruby L. McKenna, 95, died Saturday (Jan. 22, 2005) at Decatur County Hospital in Oberlin.

She was born Sept. 24, 1909, to Louis and Carrie (Akers) Rolland near Bogue, Kan. She was raised in Bogue and attended country school.

On June 17, 1930, she married Archie T. McKenna in New Almelo, Kan. She was a homemaker. She had lived in Allison, Kan., Jennings for 10 years and then moved to Oberlin in 1968.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oberlin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Archie in 1995; two brothers, Harvey and Kenneth Rolland; four sisters, Sylvia Edwards, Mable Kolste, Inez Renner and Bertha Liddle; and grandson, Michael Krizek.

Survivors include her son, Edward McKenna and wife, Gloria of McCook; daughters, Donna Chambers of McCook and Patricia Hartzog and husband, Earl of Hoxie, Kan.; brother, Lewis Rolland and wife, Rena of Albany, Ore.; sisters, Edna Sutcliffe of Portland, Ore., and Bonnie Gipe and husband, Dean of Portland, Ore.; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Services are Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oberlin with the Rev. George Kochuvelikkakam officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in New Almelo.

Visitation is Tuesday, 8 a.m.-8 p.m., and Wednesday, 8 a.m. until service time.

Vigil service is Tuesday, 7 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home of Oberlin.

Memorials may be given to the Golden Age Center or to the donor's choice.
