McDONALD -- Norman Lavell Mears, 76, of McDonald, Kan., died Monday (Dec. 27, 2004) at Life Care Center in Aurora, Colo.

He was born Feb. 12, 1928, in Cheyenne County, Kan. He was a farmer/rancher.

Survivors include his wife, Ivalee M. Mears of McDonald; son, Glen "Bud" Mears of Strausburg, Colo.; two daughters, Joyce Cahoj of Fairplay, Mo., Janet Martin of Champion; brother, Gene Mears of McDonald; two grandchildren; one great-grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren.

Services are Friday, 1 p.m., at Knodel Funeral Home of St. Francis. Interment will be in Grace Cemetery in McDonald.

Visitation is Thursday, 2-9 p.m., at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to the Norman Mears memorial fund.
