Bison 8th grade girls teams sweep Southwest
BARTLEY -- The McCook Junior High School eighth grade girls basketball A team posted a 46-8 win over Southwest Tuesday afternoon at the Bartley gymnasium.
The Bison combined B and C teams defeated Southwest 40-28.
Joanna Bryant led the Bison A team with 18 points. Kali Lyons added 11, Brianna Watkins 6, Hannah Swanhorst 4, Ashley Palic 3, Jordan Baumbach 2 and Lyndsay McLaren 2.
Layne McConville led the Roughriders with 3 points. Abby Houghtelling added 2 and Lesley Ruggles 1.
"Our perimeter people did a nice job of running the fastbreak," said McCook eighth grade girls basketball coach Steve Clapp.
Audrie Krepcik led the Bison B/C team with 12 points. Tara Powell and Danae McCorkle each scored 8, McLaren 6, Athena Parde 2, Kelsey Berry 2 and Palic 2.
Jordan Brooks led the Roughriders' B/C team with 10 points. Three players scored 4 each -- Brittany Turner, Miranda Sheets and Kimberlyn McConville. Nikki Rawn added 2.
The Bison girls basketball teams will play their season-ending games at Chase County-Imperial Thursday. The first game starts at 5 p.m. CT/4 p.m. MT.
Southwest played its final games of the season.
