Bison swim team hosts mini-invite

The first home meet of the season took place Friday at the McCook YMCA.

Hastings, North Platte, Scottsbluff and McCook competed in this mini-invite.

The McCook girls and boys placed third and fourth respectively.

"Swimmers are improving their times, and that is what we want," said McCook head swimming coach Lori Jumps.

"We are seeing steady improvement in technique and endurance."

Senior Jessica Hall placed second to Mackenzie Porter of Hastings in diving.

The girls 200 and 400 yard freestyle relays both placed second despite substitutions in the relay teams.

McCook boys placed fourth in both the 200 yard freestyle and 200 yard medley relays.

The Bison swimmers compete against Scottsbluff and North Platte Friday at North Platte. The meet starts at 4 p.m.
