Keith D. Ross

ATWOOD -- Keith D. Ross, 71, died Sunday (Nov. 28, 2004) at Rawlins County Health Center in Atwood.

He was born Nov. 26, 1933, to Eddie Edward and Doris Irene (Walkey) Ross in Cheyenne County. He was a longtime resident of Atwood.

He was a former educator for Atwood High School and was co-owner of the Rawlins County Square Deal newspaper of Atwood.

He was a member of the Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Atwood, the Atwood Lion's Club, past member of the Tumble Week Chorus, a charter member of the Rawlins County Sportsman Club, former city council member for two terms and a former emergency medical technician for over ten years. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Stuart Keith; daughter, Shannon Ross; and brother, Gary Ross.

Survivors include his wife, Rosalie Ross of Atwood; two sons, Scott and wife, Kathy of Stockton, Kan., and Robb and wife, Julie of Colby, Kan.; two grandsons; and three granddaughters.

Services are Friday, 2 p.m., at the Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Atwood with the Rev. Christine Edwards officiating.

There will be a private inurnment.

Memorials may be given to the Ross Education Scholarship Fund or the Christian Church of Atwood.

Williams Funeral Home of Atwood is in charge of the arrangements.
