SELDEN -- Bertha M. Bruggeman, 87, died Wednesday (Nov. 24, 2004) at her home in Selden.
She was born Sept. 27, 1917, to Tony and Margaret (Wolf) Bruggeman in rural Selden. She attended Cresco County schools and graduated from Selden Rural High School in 1935. She attended Marymount College in Salina.
She was a registered nurse and lived in many places including Holdrege, Omaha, St. Louis, Mo., Belvedere, Ill., and Selden. She last worked at Oberlin Hospital as a private duty nurse.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Altar Society in Selden and the nursing association.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Anton and August Bruggeman; and sister, Doretta Bruggeman.
Survivors include nephews, Darrel and wife, Carlene Bruggeman of Selden and Melvin and wife, Karen Bruggeman of Hays; and numerous great-nephews and great-nieces.
Services are Tuesday, 10:30 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Selden with the Rev. George Kochuvelikkakam officiating. Interment will be in Selden Cemetery.
Visitation is Monday, 9 a.m.-8 p.m., and Tuesday, 8 a.m., until service time.
Vigil service is Monday, 7 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Selden.
Memorials may be given to the church.
