Letter to the Editor
Vote them out
Tuesday, October 26, 2004
Dear Editor,
For years, many people have called for term limits for all politicians. We now have limits on the president, the governor and the Nebraska Legislature. The national Congress will never vote for limits. Why would you bite the hand that feeds you?
It is obvious we will never have an across-the-board limit on all political offices.
And, maybe we shouldn't, but at the present time, we can limit the terms of people at the ballot box.
If the person has had the same office for 20 years, maybe it is time to let someone else have it.
Before you vote, visit with your favorite person and ask hard questions. Behind the scenes, they may be supporting things you don't approve of.
Raymond Durner,
Bartley
