Several area

teams are 1-0

In addition to that little Class B game down in York between McCook and York, several key football games will be played involving area teams.

Cambridge (1-0), ranked No. 4 in Class C-2 by the Omaha World Herald, should walk to win No. 2 against Shelton.

This is Shelton's first year playing 11-man football, after going winless playing eight man last year.

The game will be played at Cambridge.

The Southwest Roughriders (1-0) are hoping to shut the lights out for a second week in a row for Southern Valley (0-1).

Southern Valley lost to Cambridge last week 41-14, in a game that saw the power go out in the first half, literally.

The Roughriders won last week at Blue Hill 27-6.

Kickoff at Bartley for the Southwest-Southern Valley game is 7:30 p.m.

Eustis-Farnam (0-1) and Wauneta-Palisade (0-1) are both looking for win No. 2.

Eustis-Farnam had minus 12 yards rushing last week in a crushing 51-6 defeat at the hands of Overton.

Wauneta-Palisade didn't even score until the fourth quarter last week against Hayes Center.

The Cardinals beat the Broncos 36-14.

Hayes Center (1-0) hosts Brady Friday night.

Medicine Valley-Maywood hosts another consolidated program, Creek Valley.

The Rattlers should be tested by the Storm.

Arapahoe (1-0), ranked No. 8 in D1, should feel confident about their trip to Benkelman to play Dundy County (0-1).

Arapahoe rolled over Alma last week, 56-6.

Dundy County lost to Wheatland 22-44.

Wheatland (1-0) will host Paxton this week.

Hitchcock County (1-0), travels to Maxwell this Friday.

The Falcons beat Cheylin 32-0 last week.

Cheylin (0-1) travels to Pike Valley.

Wallace (1-0) will host Brady. Wallace beat Thedford 60-20 last Friday night.

St. Francis (1-0) plays at Goodland. The Indians shutout Oberlin last week 8-0.

Oberlin (0-1) plays at Quinter.

Rawlins County (0-1) is looking for its first win.

The Red Devils suffered a 34-14 defeat at the hands of Colby last Friday.
