McCook golfers, Morrell 2nd at Sidney

SIDNEY -- The McCook girls golf squad edged out Sidney for second place at the Sidney Invitational on Thursday.

The Bison finished 29 strokes behind first place Scottsbluff, with a team score of 391. Sidney shot a 392.

Katherine Morrell finished in second place with a round of 80.

Scottsbluff's Brittany Pepler was the individual medalist. She shot a 78.

Teeyl Sutton and Lacy Theiler of Ogallala both shot 88s to tie for third.

McCook's Justine Hager finished in ninth with a 95.

Teammate Lesley Nelson just missed a medal with 99.

Minda Haas shot 117 and Kristy Osterman 126.
