The Rev. Francis Marion Hatch

BURLINGTON, Kan. -- The Rev. Francis Marion Hatch, 93, died Tuesday (Aug. 24, 2004) at Coffey County Hospital in Burlington, Kan.
He was born April 11, 1911, to EB and Myrtle Hunt Hatch in Yates Center, Kan. He was raised in Yates Center and was licensed as a minister in the Assembly of God in 1944. On Nov. 3, 1949, he was ordained in the Kansas District Council. He pastured assemblies in Las Vegas, Peralto and Albuquerque, N.M.; Locust Grove, Okla.; Garnett, Yates Center, Ashland, Osage City, Colby, Hays and Oberlin, Kan.; and in McCook. In 1999, he was honored for 50 years of service to the Kansas District Council.
On April 11, 1932, he married Helen Jane Doyle in Yates Center.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen on Oct. 10, 2002; a brother, Delbert Hatch; and two sisters, Gladys McJilton and Mabel Beckett.
Survivors include two daughters, Velda Joan Markland of Springfield, Mo., and Francis "Elaine" Terrell of Yates Center; one brother, Bud Hatch of Yates Center; one sister, Irma Reed of Las Vegas, N.M.; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services are Wednesday, 2 p.m., at Campbell Funeral Home of Yates Center. Interment will be in Yates Center Cemetery.
