Louis A. Girard

Louis Albert Girard, 94, died Tuesday (June 22, 2004) at Community Hospital of McCook.
He was born Jan. 26, 1910, to Ed and Josephine (McCullough) Girard in Clyde, Kan. He grew up in Jefferson, S.D., where he received his education.
On Oct. 23, 1933, he married Eva Beaubien in Jefferson, S.D. They moved to Longbeach, Calif., during World War II, where he was employed with Douglas Aircraft Company. They later opened Girard's Automotive, which he operated until retirement in 1976. They then moved to McCook.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva June 19, 1994; one daughter, Rochelle Cox March 1, 2003; three brothers, Edmond, Elmer and George Girard; and one sister, Eva Morris; two grandsons and two great-grandchildren.
Survivors include one son, Darrell Girard of Cheyenne, Wyo.; one daughter, Marsha Meinert and husband, Donald of Palmdale, Calif.; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial is Saturday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCook with the Rev. Jerel Scholl officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in McCook.
A prayer service is Friday, 7 p.m., at Herrmann Memorial Chapel in McCook.
