Irene M. (Fleischaker) Buk

ATWOOD -- Irene M. (Fleischaker) Buk, 83, died Tuesday (March 23, 2004) at Rawlins County Health Center in Atwood.

She was born Feb. 3, 1921, to Matthias and Martha (Holle) Fleischacker in Ludell.

On Dec. 27, 1949, she married George Weston Buk at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Ludell. She was a resident of Atwood since 1954, moving from rural Herndon.

She was a member of Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church of Atwood and a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post No. 1368 of Herndon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Aug. 13, 1980; a brother, Matthias J. Fleischacker; and a sister, Eleanor Dankert.

Survivors include one son, Gary Watson Buk of Atwood and one daughter, Karen Susann Berry and her husband, Rodney of McCook.

Services are Saturday, 10 a.m., at Reedemer Evangelical Lutheran Church in Atwood with the Rev. Don White officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery in rural Herndon.

Visitation is Friday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m., at the funeral home.

Memorials can be given in her name to the Lutheran Hour or to the charity of the donor's choice.
