KEARNEY -- Geraldine Turpin, 61, of Stratton, died Thursday (Feb. 19, 2004) at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
She was born April 8, 1942, to Leo F. and Doris L. (Sparks) McEvoy in Benkelman. She attended school in Benkelman and graduated from Benkelman High School in 1960.
On Nov. 7, 1960, she married Robert L. Turpin. The family lived in Stratton for around 39 years. She worked several years at the hospital in Stratton, then she worked at El Dorado Manor in Trenton as a cook for around 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Doris McEvoy; her husband, Robert in March 2002; and three brothers-in-law.
Survivors include her children, Robert F. Turpin and wife, Tammy and Shelly Richardson and husband, Jay, all of Stratton, Tonya Ernesti and husband, Mark and Vince Turpin and wife, Shawna, all of Benkelman; four sisters, Indiana Woods of Fairbanks, Alaska, Doris Randall of Akron, Colo., Rosemary Sauvage of Havensville, Kan., and Janet Lee and husband, Norman of Anchorage, Alaska; two brothers, Curtis McEvoy of Benkelman and Frank McEvoy and wife, Margaret of Oberlin; mother-in-law, Mary Jensen of Stratton; sisters-in-law, Cora Snyder and husband, Jack, Edith Christopher and Linda Sutton and husband, Terry; brother-in-law, Ben Turpin and wife, Kathy; and nine grandchildren.
Services are Tuesday, 10 a.m., at the VM Hall in Stratton with the Rev. Keith Reuther officiating. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Stratton.
Visitation is today, until 7 p.m., at Forch Funeral Chapel of Stratton.
