ATWOOD -- Marvin C. Waterman, 81, died Wednesday (Feb. 4, 2004) at Rawlins County Health Center in Atwood.

He was born April 15, 1922, in Pawnee City to Herman and Clara (Siske) Waterman. In 1927, he and his family moved to Rawlins County from Pawnee City and lived on a farm southeast of Atwood.

On Jan. 6, 1950, he married Lila Lee Judd in Norton, Kan. He was a farmer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his granddaughter, Georgette Hendrix; brothers, Albert and Gerhardt Waterman; and half-brother, Julius Waterman.

Survivors include his wife, Lila of Atwood; two sons, Danny Waterman of Topeka, Kan., and Donnie Waterman and wife, Rosa Lee of Colby; one daughter, Diane Hendrix and husband, Michael of Grantville, Kan.; brother, Martin Waterman and wife, Donna of Atwood; sisters, Caroline Lena Call of Colby and Verda Kroemer of Pawnee City; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Services are Saturday, 2 p.m., at Brantley Funeral Chapel in Atwood with the Rev. Don White officiating. Interment will be at the Atwood Fairview Cemetery in Atwood.

Visitation is today, until 9 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m., until service time.

Memorials may be given in his name to Valley Hope of Norton.
