Helen R. Grannis

CURTIS -- Helen R. Grannis, 90, of Curtis, died Saturday (Jan. 10, 2004) at Community Hospital of McCook.

She was born May 18, 1913, in Summer to Lester and Cora (Gilson) Kitchen. She graduated from Lexington High School.

On Aug. 10, 1939, she married Knute Larsen. He preceded her in death on Dec. 9, 1949.

On Nov. 6, 1954, she married Perry Grannis in Curtis. He preceded her in death on Nov. 16, 1975.

She worked at the ASCS office in Curtis for 25 years.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Curtis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; and one sister, Margaret Stewart.

Survivors include a son, Gary and wife, Verna Dee Larsen of Johnson Lake; two granddaughters and three great-grandchildren.

Services are Tuesday, 10:30 a.m., at the United Methodist Church in Curtis with the Rev. Richard Sykes officiating. Interment is in the Curtis Cemetery.

Visitation is today, 9 a.m.-9 p.m., at Blase-Wetzel Funeral Home in Curtis.

Memorials may be given in her name to Senior Living Center of Curtis or the United Methodist Church of Curtis.
