Bad guys take Good Book
With any luck, at least one thief in McCook will change his ways after collecting his loot.
James and Robbie Arp, owners of Taste of Texas Barbecue, woke Thursday morning to find a window had been broken out of the driver's side of their vehicle. On further investigation, the two discovered only one item missing -- a Bible.
Robbie said the thief had not touched the cell phone, camera or other books in the car.
"If they wanted a Bible that bad, they could have walked two houses down to the Catholic Church," she said. "I hope when they opened it up, it fell open to the Ten Commandments."
Robbie said she believed the thief most likely took the Bible and disposed of it in an area trash bin, but if they didn't, she said, and they didn't want to return it, she hoped they'd spend a little time reading it.
