Hazel L. Nicodemus

OBERLIN -- Hazel L. Nicodemus, 88, died Saturday (Nov. 10, 2001) at her home in Oberlin.

She was born March 16, 1913, at Pritchell, Colo., to John and Gertrude (Cardiff) Evans. She was raised in Colorado and Oklahoma.

She married Tom Nauer in June 1938. He preceded her in death. On May 28, 1970, she married Keith Nicodemus at Las Vegas, Nev. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Oberlin United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Order of Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tom Nauer in 1963; her husband, Keith on Nov. 27, 1993; one step-daughter, Evelyn Bryan; and three brothers, Charles Harold Evans Sr., Elmer Evans and George Evans.

Survivors include one step-daughter, Louise Swank and husband, Clare of Colby, Kan.; three sisters, Elna Ridgway of Atwood, Helen Brodie of Woodward, Okla., and Ethel Ormiston and husband, Ed of Pritchett, Colo.; and four grandchildren.

Services will be Thursday, 2 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home of Oberlin. Interment will be at the Oberlin Cemetery.

The Order of Eastern Star service will be tonight at 7 p.m. Visitation is tonight until 8 p.m., and Thursday, 8 a.m. until the time of the service.
