Madeline Anna Baker

Madeline Anna Baker, 84, died Saturday (Jan. 19, 2002) at Bryan LGH West in Lincoln.

She was born Nov. 15, 1917, in the St. Ann Community, to August and Arvilla Marie (Smith) Schilz. She attended St. Patrick School and McCook Public School.

On July 27, 1936, she married John Henry Baker in McCook. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Padre Extension Club and Railroad Lodge and a life-time member of the Girl Scouts.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, John; one son, Ronald; and one brother, Cyril Schilz.

Survivors include two sons, Wayne Baker of North Platte, and Dale Baker and wife, Terisha of White Bear Lake, Minn.; one daughter, Dorothea and husband, Galen Warburton of McCook; one brother, Virgil Schilz and wife, Phyllis of McCook; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

The rosary will be said Wednesday, 7:30 p.m., at Carpenter Breland Chapel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Rev. Gary Brethour officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday, 9 a.m to 7 p.m.

Memorials may be given in her name.
