CURTIS -- Ruth A. Hall, 80, died Thursday (March 21, 2002) at her home in Curtis.

She was born Dec. 14, 1921, in a sod house southwest of Curtis to Clarence A. "Jack" and Ettie B. Dettra Hinton. She attended the North Star School in District No. 29 and graduated from the Nebraska School of Agriculture in Curtis in 1939.

On Nov. 10, 1941, she married Merle F. "Bud" Hall at Cambridge. She worked for Skogmos in Curtis prior to becoming the Social Director at Sunset Haven in Curtis.

She was a member of the Curtis First United Methodist Church, the Order of Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 95.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Merle in 1986; two sisters; three brothers; and one grandson. Survivors include one daughter, Linda and husband, Carl Hamit of Wallace; two sons, Greg and wife, Cindy Hall of Fremont and Steve and wife, Chris Hall of Curtis; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be Tuesday, 11 a.m., at the First United Methodist Church in Curtis with the Revs. Greg Hall and Rick Sykes officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m., in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell.

Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or Great Plains Regional Medical Center Hospice.
